The Arkansas Coalition of Housing and Neighborhood Growth and Empowerment, better known as ACHANGE, is a 501(c)3 membership nonprofit organization made up of individuals committed to the creation, renovation, protection, expansion and preservation of quality affordable housing in Arkansas. The State of Arkansas is consistently recognized nationally for having some of the most affordable housing in the country. Unfortunately the affordability referenced does not always reflect the quality of the affordable housing. Arkansas is the only state in the nation that does not have a standard requirement or definition for habitability and is ranked 50th as it relates to tenant rights and protections.
Through its members, ACHANGE is committed to providing quality affordable housing, whether through ownership or rental, single or multi-family, across Arkansas. ACHANGE pursues and supports responsive public policy, provides educational and capacity building opportunities, and encourages partnerships among its members to address identified affordable housing needs within their communities. Members include nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, for profit companies, municipalities and individuals that are committed to improving the affordable housing landscape in Arkansas.
